The more you save and borrow with Australian Defence Credit Union, the less fees you will pay. That’s because the system is based on a relationship reward system. This is divided into two parts:
A 'basic' reward of $3.00 per month, based on ATM, EFTPOS, direct debits, BPay and online external transfer transactions. This reward is paid when your total average monthly balance falls between $2,000 and $4,999.
An 'additional' reward calculated as $1.00 per additional $5,000 (or part thereof) of your total monthly average balance.
No rebate will apply where:
Total average monthly balances are under $2,000; or
A member's account is overdrawn at any time during the month
Example
For the month of November, John has made 17 transactions (4 rediATM, 3 EFTPOS, 2 direct debits, 3 BPay, 2 online external transfers and 3 cash withdrawals at branch). He has an average S1 savings balance of $1,300, an average personal loan balance of $9,500 and an average credit card balance of $3,000. John's 'reward' on his total average monthly balances of $13,800 for November will be $5.00. Total Monthly Transaction Fees: $8.25
Less Eligible Relationship Reward
Basic Reward 3.00* Additional Reward 2.00^ 5.00 Total Monthly Fees Payable $3.25
* based on initial $2,000-$5,000 balance ^ based on additional balances of $8,500 @ $1 per $5K or part thereof
That's 17 transactions for only $3.25.
For members who have a home loan with ADCU, it's clear that the eligible reward would potentially have the effect of paying no monthly fees at all.
