Australian Defence Credit Union, established in 1959, is a financial co-operative for members of the Australian Defence Force, civilian employees of the Department of Defence, Defence contractors and their families. However other people are welcome to join.

We strive to help members better manage their money by offering competitive interest rates on their savings; making loans available at competitive rates; and keeping fees and charges at a reasonable level.

We have no external shareholders; and are completely owned by our members. New members purchase one $2.00 share, which is fully refundable if they decide to resign their membership at any time. This shareholding entitles members to vote on issues concerning their credit union.

Who Can Join?

Membership of Australian Defence Credit Union extends to all personnel employed by the Australian Department of Defence, and Defence related personnel.

We also welcome the families of these groups to join us and reap the rewards of credit union membership.

Australian Defence Credit Union operates on the principle of “once a member, always a member”. This means that no matter how your circumstances change, your membership will always remain.
