ADCU is proud to support the Credit Union Foundation (CUFA) by being a Gold Donor and assisting communities in Australia and around the world to find their own financial security.

Australia is in a very unique position as one of the few developed nations almost entirely surrounded by developing countries. With this brings an inherent responsibility to our neighbours; not only to be a good global citizen, but to make a positive difference when we can. We have the ability to help both within Australia, and abroad, with this in mind ADCU proudly supports the work of CUFA.

CUFA is an Australian not-for-profit development organisation with a domestic and international focus on relieving poverty through micro-finance and community development and access to affordable financial services.

CUFA partners with individuals and businesses including ADCU to promote sustainable corporate, economic, social and environmental practices in Australia, while international development programs focus on improving the lives of poor communities including children, women and families living in the Asia Pacific region.

CUFA’s programs give individuals the opportunity to start their own business and provide communities with resources and skills development to manage their money, increasing their ability to deal with life emergencies and invest in their own future.

In addition to Gold Donor status with CUFA, ADCU staff have been supporting the Village Entrepreneur Project since 2010 by providing financial support to two individuals to develop their micro-businesses and helping them to achieve financial independence.
